MECS™ is a modular, configurable embedded computer that provides a powerful, yet highly efficient platform for constructing customised embedded systems. Using the latest XScale™ RISC microcontrollers and Windows CE™ operating system, it provides a cost effective embedded platform with high reliability and short boot times. The modular architecture that is intrinsic to MECS allows it to be flexible and configurable, making it suitable for use in a wide variety of applications. Maximum product longevity can be reached as the platform is fully upgradeable through the use of a range of CPU modules and xPOD™ hardware plugins. xPOD Plug-ins currently available include CAN and GPS. Further modules will be available shortly, or "on-demand", including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and ZigBee.
